eGo Scooter Electric Motor Clicking Issue

My ~2005 eGo Scooter’s Electric Motor started clicking in September 2013. I’m not yet sure what the issue is, I’m posting this to get feedback and help with troubleshooting. When I figure it out I’ll update this description.
